Elders & Wives report

Katie Miller| 29 Jan 2015

Two weeks ago, we had our annual Elders and Wives weekend, this time at the Grand Hotel in Bristol. The weekend was a chance for our leaders and their wives to get together, to pray and worship, but also enjoy just being together. It was a time to thank God for our churches and their leaders, to press into future challenges and pray over different areas of church life and leadership.

Pic2It was great to have over two hundred people gather for worship and teaching, affirming that Commission is broader than just individual churches, and that we truly are stronger together.

Stef and Davina Liston also joined us for the weekend, offering a fresh perspective and some challenging teaching. Davina spoke about the area of suffering, and Stef shared some provoking thoughts about our accountability and authenticity as leaders. Guy Miller finished off the teaching looking at the importance of remaining positive in leadership – being on “the sunny side of the street.”

Feedback from the weekend has been very positive:

A highlight for me was being prayed for by dear friends who I felt safe to be myself with. Time with fellow soldiers, spurred on with genuine encouragement - a real sense of all of us "Together on a Mission."
