Impact Training is a year given over full time to God, to learn to think and live biblically. It is a mix of theological training, church based project work, personal discipleship and skills based training.
Spanning an academic year there are monthly training blocks in Bristol, and a residential week away in January. Projects are tailored to individuals, and are designed to stretch and develop students in their gifting.
The training block syllabus covers a wide range of topics including systematic theology and doctrine, working with the disadvantaged, kids and youth work, and building good foundations for the rest of your life. It is taught by church leaders from across Commission and further afield, in an interactive and informal style. There are a variety of assignments set after each training block to reinforce what has been taught. There is also a mission trip towards the end of the year, either in the UK or overseas, as part of the course.
There are also potential opportunities for undertaking an Impact year in India for those that would like to study in a cross cultural context and serve in a local church there. Please contact the Commission office if you would like to pursue this.
Impact is for anyone over the age of 18 (there's no upper age limit) who wants to take a year to serve the church, and see themselves grow and change in God.
